I think this is relatable for every person out there, creative or not. I think it's finding wins in the process, not the outcome, that has been helpful for me. And the validation has to come from within. -Tonya
As a lifetime overachiever who always thinks she is not doing enough, thank you for sharing this essay! Cause while that mindset is the one I’m trying to have, reading others achieving it makes me feel really hopeful 🥹
I loved this piece. It’s okay to do things just for yourself and just because rather than constantly trying to grow (though, like you said, that’s important, too!)
You started by saying, ‘I have lived my life with the blessing, and the curse, that every fiber of my being longs to be an artist.’ And that’s when I knew this read was for me 🤣
I guess that's somehow a blessing and a curse and I can imagine the real challenge is shifting your mindset that never enough is another way of saying there are so many possibilities still. Really enjoyed reading this and seeing your perspective 😊
Yes sounds like me! I am now 49 and been though loads of moves and abusive relationships! Started over from stretch three time! After all that still thinks to do and menopause has hit! I have leant to expect a day at a time! Enjoy each moment and do small things daily! Understand something will be on repeat daily and weekly! But just fit in one different thing per day! Slowly but surely!! You’re doing great! I watch your video earlier and laugh when you said abut the burst pipe and you said maybe that’s life things happen! Yes that’s how it is! I now mentally and physically prepare my nervous system daily for shock news or something to break or fix! You got this!!!
